Journey Towards Jointsmanship – Integrated Defence Staff

India’s journey to jointsmanship began in 2001, in right earnest, in the aftermath of Kargil War when Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) was raised followed by Andaman & Nicobar Command and the Strategic Forces Command, a little later. Over the last eighteen years, HQ IDS has carved a niche for itself. It has fulfilled the need for integration between three services and to interface on their behalf with all other ministries and agencies. The book captures the journey of HQ IDS over the years through a mosaic of aptly annotated pictures and easy to comprehend prose.
